Description Watoto Child Care Ministries is seeking a qualified and passionate Social Worker to support vulnerable and orphaned children and promote their overall well-being through effective case management and child protection interventions. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Identify vulnerable and orphaned children in situations of abuse, neglect, and maltreatment within communities. Conduct initial vulnerability assessments and prepare recommendations for residential placement in consultation with the Home Core Team. Acquire and maintain all vital child admission documentation as required. Develop plans of resettlement, care, and behavioural change plans for the children. Conduct tracing and investigations within communities and involve biological families for potential reintegration. Liaise with internal and external child protection partners to ensure effective care planning and referrals where needed. Offer psychosocial support to children via regular visits to homes and schools. Monitor children’s wellbeing, development, and needs fulfilment through regular cluster and home visits. Prepare and upload case follow-up and case management reports onto the Watoto Information System Exchange (WISE) Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date child records and databases. Support child protection implementation and participate in Child Protection Committee (CPC) meetings. Supervise and oversee visits between children and their relatives. Engage in social, educational, and developmental activities that support children’s well-being and independence. Coordinate with community stakeholders, government bodies, and partner organizations for referrals, learning, and follow-up. Escalate complex or sensitive child welfare cases to the Child Welfare Coordinator for guidance and referral to appropriate specialists Qualifications, Skills and Experience: The applicant for the role should hold at least a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration, Social Sciences, Counselling, Community Psychology, or a related field. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with vulnerable children in a similar setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications. Strong knowledge of national and international child protection laws and frameworks. Demonstrated understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and children’s rights. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
